Last night.
Grafton Street, Dublin 2.
The DublinTown Grafton Street Christmas Lights were officially switched on.
The traditional “Nollaig Shona Duit” sign made its return, after it was replaced by the widely unpopular “Welcome to Grafton Quarter” sign last year.

The “Welcome to Grafton Quarter” garbage was a low point. Nice to see the original sign restored and it proves public opinion works. The Tarquin’s and Tamara’s in the advertising world got their butts kicked.
And the Fiachras and Smaoirses are ana såsta ar fad.

Everything I hear the name Fiachra, I initially think they have mispronounced ‘fiacla’ and think their horsey look fits their name.
Then I get it.
Been there, done that. Now show the Christmas lights in downtown Ballymagash.
What’s the difference between this and the SHOCKING video of South William St?
Hanging around on the street in groups for hours versus walking down the street? Have you ever been out drinking?
How do you know they were “hanging around on the street in groups for hours”??

…well done…a meme is born…
Grafton street looks lovely. I’ll miss Dublin this Christmas
The crooked candles always bug me.
When I am master and ruler of the universe I will ban referring to any part of any city as a Quarter, unless it was referred to as a Quarter pre-1900
