This afternoon.

Citywest, Dublin.

Des O’Grady from Castleknock celebrates receiving a free balloon on becoming the 100,000th vaccine recipient since the vaccination centre at Citywest opened on March 3.

The milestone shot was administered by Corporal Thomas Carew, of the Irish Army, lending the event a M*A*S*H feel.

Hang on. Des was promised a cupcake?

UPDATE:

YAY!

Groan. Usual sneering tone from Bodger.

At this stage, it would be more honest to just come out and tell folks that the vaccine is for fools.

Let the Q be with you.

            My dear Bodger,

My sarcasm was directed at BB’s Unreal comment.

            Sincerely,

            An ardent fan.

            (PS keep the chin up)

Lol. Queen cakes for all OR is it more correct to say Q-cakes for all, jabbed and non-jabbed!

      1. General Public

Unreal indeed, much like the two individuals pictured one would have to assume.

You don’t see many v-neck jumpers worn without a collar in fairness….

It’s usually accompanied by a boxing glove pendant on a gold necklace….

Interesting choice of freebies, sugar-laden processed food, basically semi-poisonous junk-food to go with your untested jab. In 2003, the WHO tabled a big anti-sugar declaration, which was spiked by some US Senators who were in the pockets of the Sugar Industry, which has used many of the same methods as the Tobacco Industry. In the mid-50’s & later anyone declaring that tobacco caused cancer was ridiculed as a Conspiracy Theorist & “The Science” said tobacco does not cause cancer. The Sugar Industry spread disinformation about Fat being worse than sugar in your diet, all total nonsense, fat doesn’t make you fat or cause obesity, heart disease, diabetes or Alzheimer’s but sugar has been linked to all of these. Today, Public Health is far more corrupted than it was then, Bill & Melinda’s little Foundation actually donates to the UK’s Medicine Regulator, an ostensibly “State-run” organisation. Eat your sugar-laden junk food & take your jab & we can all be like the US, where the Average Lifespan has been decreasing by a year, annually, for several years. Now, if only you could be havin’ a fag with your jab…

I find it totally bizarre how it is the left wingers who are the most ardent supporters of pro trillion dollar industry with a sketchy history.

We’ll just sit here and wait for you to dismantle capitalism before we deal with the pandemic, shall we?

Do the indigenous small and medium business sector, especially service, who currently have zero representation in Dáil Éireann, mean nothing to you? Probably not.

          1. Nigel

I’d say Dail Eireann is more representative of the indigenous small and medium business sector, especially service, than it is of the Broadsheet comment section.

Exactly. The so called Left are walking in lock step with the very financial interests they claim to be against. They are either duplicitous goons or imbecilic fools. They are now the “grassroots movement” for the billionaire class and the interests of High Finance and the Global Corporate behemoths. The clowns even jump to defend these bllionaires like Gates and Soros, both the worst kind of capitalists, should anyone dare question their integrity. But, they consider themselves really really compassionate so anything they believe is real because they “feel it” and everything else, just crazy conspiracy theory. They’ve already forgiven GW Bush for a million dead Iraqis. All it took was for him to attack that other puppet Trump. They believe without question everything they are told by “Offical voices” and even consider this unquestining belief a virtue. They judge information, not by it’s content, but by it’s source alone. No actual evidence or proof required. Important man said it, it must be true. They are so utterly uninformed and delusion. Poor Nige here being a sad example….

Yawn. Alt right flimflam. All the usual tropes. Trust no one – nothing is real. Kremlinology BS.

        2. Nigel

All of this because most people disagree with you about the severity of a contagious viral disease.

You know, the word ‘triggered’ has been thrown around a lot to the point of meaninglessness lately, but…

Did you just equate cake to poison?

Christ alive. Just count yourself Frilly isn’t here.

A vaccine for a virus so deadly that it needs it’s own marketing department.

Anyone know what the total percentage jabbed as yet? That was the easy part, those who were keen etc- the hard questions will emerge from those who are reluctant. I know Health Freedom Ireland were appealing for people injured to come forward but I assume there is some sort of official injury register?

HSE chief executive Paul Reid told a HSE press briefing this week that more than 1.6 million first doses had been administered as of [last] Wednesday [19th May].

This would put Ireland pretty much exactly on the trajectory we predicted last week, as this equals just shy of 41% of the eligible population with a first dose.

He said 563,000 people are fully vaccinated, which equals 14.4% of the population.

But these are not the full figures; as many as 40,000 doses administered by GPs are yet to be validated and included in the total number.
      https://www.thejournal.ie/vaccine-rollout-ireland-still-on-track-for-80-target-by-30-june-but-data-is-patchy-due-to-cyberattack-5443087-May2021/

Those numbers are a week old; they are doing almost 300,000/week

It will be interesting to see if there really is a vaccine reluctance or just a small cohort of noisy people on social media…

Congrats. You got your vaccine…that’s not a actually vaccine or all that effective at reducing symptoms. Ah who cares. Questions are for conspiracy theorists right? Now straight on to Twitter to boast you got your stupid jab and then tell everyone you know they need to comply and get theirs or they’re putting granny and grandad in danger.

I’m surprised he wasn’t given a lollipop so much have this government and our media infantilised the people of this country. All desperate for a parental State to keep them “safe” in a time of uncertainty.
