Well they are definitely doing better that the pharma fascists- for sure.

Unless you are going to argue that the majority think like you eh?

          1. SOQ

Are you actually suggesting that Vaccine Passports have not had a negative impact on the pub and restaurant trade?

            What planet are you on?

Jab 3, 4 and 5 for Daisy please nurse,

          2. Daisy Chainsaw

That would be a stupid thing for you to be suggesting, because I certainly didn’t, as they’ve only been in operation for a short while. The lockdown had a negative effect because they weren’t able to trade but the provision of vaccine passes allowed for safe reopening.

          3. SOQ

Safe opening how? Absolute BS- vaccinated can be just as infectious- why is that so difficult to understand?

Vaccine passports most definitely have reduced business, especially as tests are not accepted- which is the most ridiculous part of it all. No wonder people are ignoring it- there is no sense to it.

Bridgitt reTweeted Gillian Mckeiths funeral directors joke. Which she naturally totally misunderstood.

And you can also boycott long after this stupid rubbish is over.

That may mean little to city types but it means a lot in small / medium towns or rural areas.

The €uro is king after all and people are free to vote with it- which they will.

          1. Ronan

So you’re boycotting businesses that follow the rules that have been imposed upon them.

In other words, you’re punishing them for following the law and not making a stand with you.

And the result of the boycott is what? Drinking at home or are there publicans flouting the law. If it’s the former, I get that, if it the latter, aren’t you happier in your new pub anyway?

We’ve exchanged the odd post on a few threads here, you and I. You seem very angry at people’s compliance with the rules, and their unwillingness to take a stand and break said rules. It’s very intolerant of you to expect every citizen to rise up – many of us are happy to simply take what’s been presented to us at face value and get on with life – and it’s particularly unfair of you to expect someone trying to get their business back on its feet to break the rules for you.

Vote with your feet – if enough people share your sentiment these businesses will indeed close down. Custom is earned anyway.

          2. SOQ

I am angry with a law which is unjust and unfair, and has people protesting on the streets of most European cities- as well as elsewhere.

But yes, a sizable number of people are taking their business elsewhere and good for them. Just because it is a ‘law’ doesn’t make it right.

            @ SOQ
“And you can also boycott long after this stupid rubbish is over…”

            You are one stupid individual.
I hope none of your family fall gravely ill, it’ll save them the embarrassment of listening to you telling them it’s just stupid rubbish…

          4. Poor oul divil

Where I’ve been going out no one is checking any more and it’s a solid middle class law abiding area generally. That said SOQ is simply yet another attention seeking internet gobspoo to be honest – as many have already noted.

You’d have to say this is DIGI having a “no plop Sherlock?” moment.
I suppose it’s a struggle to realise that the government, which used to pay a lot of lip-service to “creating jobs”, has discontinued those remittances, in favour of wholesale destruction of industries, careers, livelihoods & lives, at the behest of Billionaire Eugenecist types.
It’s also great to see our political class & their lickspittles in the public sector expending their energies on something they actually have a knack for.

I don’t know about you guys, but everywhere seems very loose about the passes now.

Sure, they’ll look at them, they might even scan them. But I’ve never had anyone check my ID.

Only yesterday I pulled out the (copy of my mates) cert on my phone and the girl couldn’t get her phone and mine aligned to scan it properly.

She gave up after 10 seconds. “Oh, it doesn’t matter, as I can SEE that you have it.” She said.

My wife behind me couldn’t even find hers on her phone and she was still let in. ;-)

if your job is to check something that 93%+ of the population have and the person is happy to produce, – how much of a stickler are you going to be? How often are you going to come across one of the 7% “unclean” and are you really going to care?

    1. Daisy Chainsaw

All these “they don’t check ID really” stories by antivaxx/antimaskers remind me of when we were campaigning to repeal the 8th. So many antichoicers knew so many women who’ve had an abortion that they regretted.

Of course, there was no way of verifying that either!

      1. Ronan

I’m vaccinated and definitely for it, but for my anecdote …

I’ve sat indoors twice in the past 2 weeks, once for coffee over a week ago and we went for lunch last Friday afternoon.
        – The coffee place just visually looked at my wife’s pass and ID, and just at my pass, then let us sit down – it could have been a QR code for an onlyfans site.
        – The lunch place did scan our certs and take a contact trace mobile, but they did not card us.

Both Cork city, not the Healy-Rae-Café or nothin’

    2. Janet, dreams of an alternate universe

my sister went for dinner last night, asked by an unmasked staff was she vaxxed, she said yeah and was walked to her table by again unmasked staff…

      1. Gavin

Same, I’ve a mate who has been in a few pubs and never asked for a cert, and enjoys telling us via photos of creamy pints of Guinness.

        1. SOQ

You do realise that on the a la carte “left wing” planet called Daisy Chainsaw- you are all just “antivaxx/antimaskers” telling lies now don’t you?

      2. Micko

        Nope! Janet and Gavin

You and I are definitely ALL LIARS in Daisyworld ;)

Hopefully this whole bloody thing is effin done and dusted now and we can all get back to doing the normal everyday stuff that makes life class.

That’s what most normal folk want I think.

Roll on 22nd Oct. I really hope it happens.

        1. SOQ

It won’t happen, not if England is just ramping up for same. Over there they are saying Vaccine Passports will only be implemented if hospitals are under pressure again- while preparing to sack health workers who have not been vaccinated- how does that make sense?

          Well- maybe it does.

          1. Micko

            I dunno man.

The closer it get the more optimistic I am.

As far as I can see, most people are totally done with this whole thing and it’s only the head de balls who want it for political reasons keeping it going.

Like I said, I was at a outdoor thing for the kids yesterday, clowns, music, dancing etc and there were only two people there wearing masks outside.

            They looked like mentallers

        2. Chris

People might be done with it but will businesses open, if by fascist dictates they were told to close? I’d happily support any that did.

I hope your right too by the way, I’ve just grown weary at the constant rug pulling to suit their agenda.

      1. Free Lunch

        Unlike the rest of us.

Plus no wages to be paid, running costs, logistics.

Most small pubs are owner run.

Free money for the drink death lobby. Pour Mooth indedded.
