Education minister Norma Foley (top) has asked parents to consider cancelling their children’s birthday parties

People should reconsider hosting and attending birthday parties or play dates for children, Minister for Education Norma Foley has said.
She also asked people to “hunker down” in light of the rise in Covid-19 cases.
Ms Foley was speaking on RTÉ’s Today with Claire Byrne programme after the Government announced a series of new measures in a bid to curb a rise in Covid-19 cases.
“We are in a different setting now,” she said.
“There is a window of opportunity to reassert ourselves and do the right thing.”

If Covid is endemic and cases will inevitably rise as we open up, then the only solution is to lock down administer boosters open back up, cases rise, lock down, boosters, open up, rinse repeat.
Or we can just accept that Covid will kill people. Same as we do with every other disease.
And do our very best to save them by hopefully improving the health service and treatments, but accept the reality as it is.
That’s the endgame.
It’s literally killed 0.1% of the Irish population. Heart disease kills 30%, same as cancer 30%.
And all three predominantly kill the same group – old people.

I have read about the HIV thing before Chris and I really hope you are wrong, because that has absolutely huge long term implications.
Nobody has ever explained why people who were injected with the Australian concoction then tested HIV+ of course.
The one thing we do know is that unlike all other coronaviruses, CoVid-19 causes blood clots- which is odd.
@SOQ It would mean life long anti virals. The new Pfizer drug contains the same protease inhibitor that’s used in other HIV treatments (as per their press release).
There’s a good chance the batches aren’t all the same. Someone tracked all the close deaths in the USA through VAERS and found 5% of the batches were responsible.
If I’d taken it I would present for a HIV test, just to know where I stood.
Not sure I would read too much into that as Ivermectin also act as a protease inhibitor- albeit it with a different type of mechanism.

How are unvaccinated 20 year olds contributing to the collapse of the health service?
You can still spread covid when vaccinated
And 20 year olds are not at risk of hospital/ICU/death regardless of vaccine status.

I am playing bullpoo bingo. If I get “two weeks to…” I’ll have a full house.
The kids are together all day in school.
They do GAA and football 4 nights of the week with kids from all the other schools in the surrounding area.
They play matches at the weekend with kids from Balbriggan to Dalkey.
…. and yet Norma says they shouldn’t have birthday parties or go on playdates.

That’s it really its the those that keep swallowing this bullplop that are the real problem.
Constantly amazed at the fellow parents outside the school gates that put on masks outside.
My kid has just spent 6 hours with your kid in a room, together with 30 other kids, plus my kid was actually in your house yesterday playing with your kid and 4 other kids for hours.
And then I was in your house picking my kid up!
The best bit is when we’re all walking away (together) from the school, they take the mask off. As if they’re safe once they leave the school gates.
These are people who are college educated with degrees and important jobs n’ stuff.
So they’re not stupid. THEY know it’s stupid. It’s about being seen to do “the right thing”
Maybe they wear the masks outside the school to hide their contempt/boredom towards the folks who 18 months later are still banging on about masks only being used to divide us. You cant argue their efficacy of that my man.
Well, you can’t argue about their effectiveness either.
The 4400 healthcare workers who are out sick with the Covids can attest to that.
And sure who has better PPE than them my man? ;)
