Dr Tony Holohan said there is “a substantial job to do” to issue a third vaccine to those over 40 who are at risk of severe infection and he asked them to come forward.
He said that “vaccines really work, particularly when boosted, in preventing infection from becoming severe infection and we expect that to be the case with Omicron”.
“Don’t put off the opportunity to be vaccinated if it comes your way,” he added.

Tuesdays evening flight to Dublin from New York was sold out,a friend was on it.
Over the weekend in NY there was a surge,with 3-4 hour wait for tests,if you could get an time,lots scheduled travelers tested positive,could not did not fly.
Of the 3 people I know scheduled fly only 1 made it,the flights from states are almost empty.
All the zombies.
35 euros for 10 tests,can’t get home tests in NY,sold out,have go ‘Medexpress’ or a drop in clinic.

Oh to be two years old again! That kid in the buggy looks so chilled, imagine travelling like that, would be great, few cans in a chiller underneath you, maybe a catheter so you don’t need to move, luxury.
It’s just beautiful to see all these masked compliant people
And how many would be doing it if they didn’t have to?
Yes it seems to annoy you that people are smarter than you on average
And none tested when they set foot off that plane
And who knows what strain they could be carrying
