February 2, 1922.

The handover of Beggars Bush Barracks, Haddington Road, Dublin 4.

Janet writes:

Tomorrow, 100 years ago, Beggars Bush Barracks, where the National Print Museum is located, became the first military barracks to be handed over to the new National Army by the departing British forces. Lively crowds gathered to observe the National Army detachment as it marched from the Phoenix Park to Beggars Bush. Read a contemporaneous account from The Irish Times here.

Was it for this?

Only you can decide.

you’ll see the same information on the National Print Museum’ s page, a great little place, after all where would we be without the original printed word ( in Europe anyway )….the internet of it’s time.

I think Harry took a break during the COVID posts, if I remember correctly it didn’t sit well with him. I hope he comes back.

Thank you Janet for this. The fellow second from right in the top photo looks like he’s going to do a Naomi in those boots.
