On The Late Late Show…

…Linda Pototzki writes:

Former Presidents of Ireland, Mary Robinson and Mary McAleese will speak together about the war in Ukraine.

RTÉ Europe Editor, Tony Connelly saw first-hand how a vibrant city overnight turned to one where terror, confusion and panic reigned. Tony will discuss the scenes he saw first-hand on the streets of Kyiv while broadcasting from a bunker where parents and children sought refuge.

Beloved entertainer Dolly Parton and bestselling author James Patterson will join Ryan from Nashville to talk about their new novel ‘Run Rose Run’ and why they’re both extremely passionate about encouraging children to read from a young age.

Plus, we will have music from Dublin pop artist Aimée who will perform her newest single ‘Nobody Else’.

The Late Late Show on RTÉ One tomorrow at 9:35pm.

Voted for Robinson and didn’t vote for McAleese – of the two, believe Robinson is the more hypocritical; McAleese appears to slog away on gay stuff and Rome stuff and is not hesitant about speaking about her chosen issues.
The other one, self-aggrandiser par excellence, hides behind her presidency when asked about issues here but flaunts it shamelessly abroad; I’m from Mayo, was part of the fight against Shell’s gas refinery here and Robinson has not and will never say anything about it (in her own back yard) but bestrides the world stage making noises about the environment.

Anyone who even agrees to join, never mind conceive of, a group called The Elders needs a talking to.

Robinson and Bacik are cut from the same cloth.

Bacik on track to become labour party leader (maybe she has, that is how little I pay attention to Liebour) after taking ONLY 20 years to win an election where she was the only establishment candidate able to string together a coherent sentence.

James babyface ran a lot and the FF one? Not sure I ever heard her speak and there was no way anyone in that constituency was going to vote for one of the poor people parties.

Anyway, Robinson is a useful tool for dictatorial regimes that host child sex slave auctions, there is no getting around that one Mary.

But like you Maura, I actually prefer McAleese, didn’t vote for her either but I can respect some of what she says and does, not necessarily agree with her, but she does seem sincere or at least she does beside Robinson.

‘McAleese appears to slog away on gay stuff’

Ha. She would have toed the church line had her son not turned out to be gay. There’s a pair of them in it, the Marys.

      1. Maura

Agree with you but, of the two, while Mary Mc only’ came out’ when her son did she has been fairly consistent since then while before that she was strongly supportive of the church. A mother’s love and all that is acknowledged – it may have taken the personal for her to re-consider her thinking but that’s no bad thing.
Mary R on the other hand appears to be consistently in love with Mary R.

I really hope Ryan remembers to ask Dolly Parton if she has any Irish heritage and whether her Irish fans are special to her..

Ah, Mna na hÉireann, the comeback tour. They were the first two wahmen politicians that caused me to question my long-held views that wahmen would actually make better politicians than many men. How naive of me.
These days, I have Kamaaaala Harris to put my mind at ease on that subject, even if Condoleezza Rice was actually cleverer than her boss.
These people are all System Pigs, if she gets the job, Bacik will gently lay the Labour Party down to die, gorged on money from György Schwartz, who desires nothing less than the genocide of the very people the party was supposed to pretend to represent.
It does need to be said that neither was any worse than the current incumbent, who’s just another fake like them but with a beard.
