      Any idea where they got that image from? The dust and other gick on the image suggests that it was a multi-exposure composite on the same frame of film, impressive piece of work by the original photographer. Probably took ages and tons of luck (and practice).

        At around 2:15 into the trailer there’s a few looks to different cameras. It’s possible that they created it from that. Google image search doesn’t credit the image to anyone and it’s only being used in relation to the Netflix doc… Which is just as well as it’s the stuff of nightmares.

          If you look at the trailer the graphic design work is really high end. Id say they have a very good team working on graphics for this. Honestly I was super impressed by the graphic and post production work on the trailer.

    Whilst I knew that there were those in the know in officialdom who turned a blind eye or indeed actively facilitated Saville I wasn’t aware that this was common knowledge as early as 1978 until I read this eye opening throwaway comment from an unlikely source recently.

    Given Lydon was hardly an exactly “insider” one can only deduce that this was common knowledge much earlier in the ’70’s at the Beeb and elsewhere (Stoke etc)

      Clearly you are looking for some sort of shocked reaction here but try show a bit of class for once maybe?

      Calling him a cad and describing his vicious sickness as ‘fiddling’ might sound hilarious to you, it isn’t. It really isn’t.

      Do you think sexually abusing a child is something to laugh at? Which bit is funniest? The actual abuse where they are overcome with disgust, shame and terror as it is happening or the subsequent weeks or years later when they cannot live with it and some go on to make the awful error of overdosing on paracetamol and die horrifically in terrible pain because he was being a ‘cad’?

      Stick with the holiday fiction, harmless and amusing.

        No holiday fiction today – I’m far too hungover from the weekend’s frivolity and japes so it’s a quiet day by the pool rehydrating and probably engaging in some vigorous jiggery-pokery which is my go-to hangover cure.

        But climb down off your high horse there old sport. Savile was a wrong ‘un no doubt but he also did a lot of good work for charidee and, well, quite a lot of fiddling about too. Some of his targets were also consensual.

        But if you feel better getting those things of your chest then all is well.

        Is it too early for a sharpener ? I could murder a gin and tonton and it’s still only morning.

            There was nothing altruistic about that work, or about Saville.

        Savile’s story was an open secret.
        Irvine Welsh published a book called Ecstasy back in 1996, and one of the three stories in the book is called “Lorraine Goes to Livingston”. There is a character in the story called Freddie Royle, and as soon as I read the story I could see that Royle was clearly Savile.

        But way before that Savile was creepy. How he ever came to be a presenter on a children’s programme is genuinely beyond me; unless those who put him in that position were involved in the same malarkey which is a definite possibility given what we now know about sexual deviance in high places in Britain and the US.

If ever there was a case for doing a Cromwell (as he did with one of the Charles’) and digging up Saville’s body and sticking his head on a pike outside parliament that should tip the “aye” balance. That said there’s an irony in posting that gargoyle’s head outside the Houses of Commons given the evil that stalked its corridors down through the centuries.

      No way his serial abuse was unknown, guaranteed it was widely known within his circle. Evil thrives when good people do nothing. I’ll bet if TPT’s daughter had been subject to a “fiddling” he wouldn’t be blithely touting his charitable work. He calls him a “cad” to diminish the evil perpetrated by a serial child abuser. It is a reflection on TPT and his own hierarchy of evil. Nothing can be weighed in Saville’s favour, TPT a troll or scum or both.

    I remember seeing Savile on TV. Even as a kid, I sensed he was creepy & couldn’t understand why he was on TV. He did TOTP but clearly had no interest in music, he seemed totally talentless to me.
    Then John Lydon, while the MSM were screaming for his blood, just dropped that accusation & it was ignored.
    That’s when I knew they all knew.
