This morning.
Just ‘dropped’.
Jodie Delany writes:
After selling out of early bird tickets and launching the 2022 festival without naming its headline acts, Body & Soul is now excited to give a first glimpse of the curatorial style for its uniquely programmed 2022 edition, which will unfold across the Summer Solstice weekend of 17-19 June [Ballinlough Castle Estate, county Westmeath]
Inviting audiences to participate in an immersive and adventurous weekend full of surprises, Body & Soul has this year halved its numbers and doubled its curatorial commitment, with just 5,500 weekend tickets available for this strikingly smaller 3-day event.

We went to Body and Soul about 10 years or so ago, when it would have been relatively small, with only about 5000 odd tickets being sold. I think the fact that it was so small made it really enjoyable. Didn’t hurt that the weather was amazing that weekend either.
Never been- but I was thinking ‘I am old’ until I saw Róisín Murphy was headlining
She’s holding it well mind- all us Disko Queens do of course.

I was a regular there for 10 years straight. Lost a lot of its appeal the last few years as the crowd’s got bigger and were less in keeping with the relaxed and friendly “vibe” of previous attendees. More bodies, less soul, as the case was…would still do a one nighter for a Saturday but will be off enjoying the Greek Islands that weekend this year.
Yeah – the same happened with the picnic. Too many mad heads.
This looks interesting though – 5000 cap too and closer to Dublin

yea, yeah man,U2 peaked at the Dandelion Market, all downhill since,no.nah you dont come across as two old boring oul lads,no no not at all-zzzzzz
Small festivals are more enjoyable. They’re good for a couple of years then get too big. It’s a consequence of the life cycle required to make them viable.
Ah yeah sorry Johnny if I’ve reached the age where I prefer a bit of luxury and am not too mad into a load of annoying 20 year old’s who can’t handle their booze puking everywhere and starting fights and then spending the next three hours shouting for their mate “Dave ” in a campsite until 6am while I’m trying to get some shut eye.
Fill yer boots man – I’ll stick to the good stuff
I actually worked at it (well volunteered for a friend) and it was good craic, smaller than the others and a nicer vibe to it, think that was maybe 2015 or 2016?
Yeah I think that’s dead right actually! Our paths might have crossed. It was definitely small enough that you’d manage it back then :D
Lol now thats a bargain basement lineup.
…would a BIG man like yourself not have ‘access all areas’ or like me a VVIP (with the band) or vendor pass, shocked Micko,do they not know how BIG your cojones are ?
Most the festivals in states are now following “Grasslands” – change is hard fo older people, try embrace it or stay home, not very rock n roll Micko, moaning and whining about young people having a good time at a festival.

He didn’t say they couldn’t enjoy themselves. He said he’d rather not be there and is happier to leave ’em at it while he goes elsewhere.
Talk about aul lads, eh.
Toke a bit more out of your own book there Johnny :)
Boom Boom!
…oh look who just showed up,is there not a transgender tread for you to puke all over,i guess you can translate culchie best around here.
