Van Morrison – Dangerous
“I must be getting close to the truth.”
Funny how the same people who used to laud Van The Man as a unique musical genius turned on him the minute he went off-message about Covid lockdowns.
It was of course Robin Swann, Northern Ireland’s Health Minister, who dubbed Van “dangerous” for daring to air his views on the pandemic policies of the government.
Now the outspoken godfather of Celtic Soul answers back on his new single. What will the 77th Brigade make of it all? I’d say we’re about to find out.
To quote one of the commenters under the YouTube video:
“In times of mass deception, telling the truth is truly revolutionary. Very few entertainment celebrities tell the truth. Van puts to shame those celebrities who know the truth but do not speak it for fear of being cancelled.”
FIGHT!
Nick says: Swann song.

Van – one obnoxious individual.
He appears to be in the early stages of hairy hands syndrome-level 6 by the looks of it
“It was of course Robin Swann, Northern Ireland’s Health Minister, who dubbed Van “dangerous” for daring to air his views on the pandemic policies of the government.”
Seems pointless to once again point out the lies and deliberate twisting of facts by the Covid deniers here but here goes once more:
It actually was not Swann “who dubbed Van “dangerous” for daring to air his views etcetera”. It was the other way round – VM went on a deranged rant about how Swann was “very dangerous” and “corrupt” and a “fraud” and “needs to be stopped”. Like seriously, Broadsheet… no standards or professionalism at all at this stage?
As per usual, the truth is somewhere in the middle. Yes, Morrison called Swann dangerous, but so did Swann call Morrison dangerous, so take your pick.
Health Minister Swann slams ‘dangerous’ Van Morrison coronavirus protest songs
Health minister Robin Swann has slammed singer Sir Van Morrison for “dangerous” protest songs in which the singer accused the government of taking the public’s freedom during the Covid crisis.
“I don’t know where he gets his facts. That sort of messaging is dangerous.”
https://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/northern-ireland/health-minister-swann-slams-dangerous-van-morrison-coronavirus-protest-songs-39541838.html
Please stop lying.
“That sort of messaging is dangerous” is not calling someone “dangerous”, which is what Broadsheet and you state as fact.
It was VM who called Swann “a very dangerous man” who “needs to be stopped”, hence the legal case.
If you genuinely don’t see the difference, you’re a fool.
So you think that there is a difference between calling someone dangerous and calling someone’s message dangerous?
Let Swann take Van to court- let the courts decide- as long as Swann pays for it out of his own pocket.
But Swann won’t of course, because the last thing that shower want is be anywhere near a courtroom where they will be forced to justify their actions.
Swann, along with every individual within the States & the Governments who promoted the fake pandemic are very, very dangerous, indeed. A fact we will all, eventually, realise. Most of them knew they were lying, using fake science, propaganda & disinformation but most of them do that as a matter of course, anyway, just that this time, they were killing people.
History- and please God the courts- will decide who was the ‘dangerous’ one.
I look forward to it.
J’aime Van avec fromage.
Van was, is and always be The Man. Respect to him for complete lack of bullpoo and saying f—- the begrugers, I’m a genius. And he is. Keep on groovin’ Van.
I can almost smell his poo on your tongue through the Internet.
Well, Mr Halen, if you can smell poo, blaming it on the internet won’t work.
Morrison is a cantankerous crank of an orangeman. Funny how he never wrote anything in protest about the many social issues that arose down the decades but when it came to him not being able to sell overpriced tickets to his dinnerdance shemozzle in the Europa he had a complete meltdown and made a show of himself. Oul eejit. I’ve always thought he was over rated and he has a horrible voice too.
You are actually trying to shoehorn sectarianism into this?
Van may be a cranky old git but he is most definately NOT sectarian- as people from the ‘other side’ like Brian Kennedy will testify.
Address her point, you liar.
How come VM did not care one jot for truth or justice until it hit his own pocket?
Can I call names too?
Lair Liar pants on fire !
I am not “shoehorning” anything in anywhere – as the old saying goes “tell me with whom you associate, and I will tell you who you are.” Funny how you pick up on the orangeman comment but completely ignore the other point I made …
Because it is mudslinging? If it is not relevant then why bring it up? In northern political terms, Van has always had a very middle of the road fan base.
The only time I have ever seen a tricolour and a union jack being waved FROM THE ONE POLE was at an anti-lockdown / anti leper pass rally in Belfast.
Van Morrison does and says what he wants- we need more like him.
He’s often been outspoken before but is generally publicity shy, as is well-known.
For instance in ‘A Town Called Paradise’ he refers to copycats who ripped off his songs.
Largely though he has let his music do the talking, I wish we had more like him.
He only got involved with this on behalf of fellow working musicians, its not like he needed either the money or the negative (or any sort of attention) from knuckleheads like you.
What an unnecessarily caustic comment. Making stuff up to suit your horribleness is futile, bit like yourself.
I did some work for Van a number of years ago. He wouldn’t pay me. Had to go to court. His wife, poor woman, literally settled outside the court. As I’m a retard I cannot understand why she did. I also cannot understand why the great debater, soq, piles in his defence?
You’re a total fool and extremely ignorant to boot. He has written several non-sectarian songs about the shared experiences of growing up in Northern Ireland, (too numerous to mention, but e.g. Cleaning Windows) and even one where he explicitly refers to the conflicts in a wholly non-partisan way (St. Dominic’s Preview)
He couldn’t be overrated as there are literally no superlatives left to describe his incredible contribution to global culture in the last 2 centuries. This is recognised all over the world and particularly in the United States.
Singing about copycats who ripped off his songs? That’s hardly being outspoken on social issues. Dunno why you’re flinging personal insults. You’re a fan – I’m not … and I am as entitled to voice my opinion as you – it doesn’t make either of us right …
@MaryJane. So it’s ok for you to fling around insults but nobody else is allowed to on planet bad manners.
Yup- there is a lot of that around here.
His songs, if you ever bothered to listen to them, are the protest. Pot and kettle on the cantankerous label judging by your comment.
This is SOQ
@DuncanWheeler Yet you’re happy for Terry to call him “a fat sweaty miserable git” AND you give him a plus one? I don’t think my language was nearly as insulting! Also, I HAVE listened to him – You’d have to kind of listen to someones music before forming an opinion on it like … So it seems that you have more of an issue with the fact that I am not a fan of his music …
Why throw in the fact that he’s protestant. Would you have called him a cantankerous old queer if he was gay?
The level of bigotry thrown at anyone who stood against the ridiculous restrictions is still ongoing it seems
Would you have called him a cantankerous old queer if he was gay?
Leave Brian Kennedy out of this. ⌐■_■]
@ Kali, the word Protestant was not mentioned, the word Orangeman was. Not all Orangemen are Protestant.
The Loyal Orange Institution, commonly known as the Orange Order, is an international PROTESTANT fraternal order based in Northern Ireland and primarily associated with Ulster PROTESTANTs, particularly those of Ulster Scots heritage.
.
The Orange Order was founded by Ulster PROTESTANTs in County Armagh in 1795, during a period of PROTESTANT–Catholic sectarian conflict, as a fraternity sworn to maintain the PROTESTANT Ascendancy in Ireland.

Not sure if they accept vegans?
Some Catholics who are loyal to the crown are also members.
Have you some sort of link saying that? All I can find is sites saying it excludes Roman Catholics.
It excludes most Christians, not many Catholics are going to admit to being loyal to the crown.
Have you a link that says that ‘some Catholics who are loyal to the crown are also members’?.
There’s never going to be a link to anything like that, it would not be a good idea to have information like that. Maybe in the future.
Yes, nice flavour of sectarianism from Mary Jane the Unpopular Retard. That’s your full name, now.
He’s a fat sweaty miserable old git on stage.
But my word when his band swings and he’s on top form there’s no-one better than Van Morrison.
You’d forgive him anything.
+1
He is dangerous. To the women who have loved him at least. No one will forgive him for beating his partner. Oft times in public.
Cu’s dog-poo, stir in some virtue signalling & a pinch of whataboutery. Retch.
Now it’ll eat it’s own vomit.
He said “ there’ll be days like this “
No, Dave, his Mama said it.
