On Monday, at 1.15pm, Eason on O’Connell Street will host an in-conversation event with Matt Cooper and Irish publisher and museum director, Trevor White.

In this special recording of Today FM’s The Last Word, Matt Cooper will be speaking to Trevor White about his new book Alfie, The Life and Times of Alfie Byrne.

The event will commence at 1:15pm. Expected event duration is 30 mins followed by a 10 min Q&A.

Former Taoiseach Liam Cosgrave at the opening of the Alfie Byrne Exhibition at the Little Museum of Dublin, Stephen’s Green, Dublin.

Alfie Byrne was the most popular Dublin-born politician of the 20th Century and elected Lord Mayor a never-to-be-beaten 10 times. He has also never been the subject of a biography or an exhibition in his hometown.
