On Saturday.

Composer and Assistant Professor in Music at Dublin City University Seán O’Doherty wrote on Facebook:

“It is now a week since my big brother Brendan passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. The lockdown has cruelly denied us most of our mourning traditions, especially physical presence and contact. My family, however, has been overwhelmed with love and support from all over the world.

“Thank you to everyone who has sent their condolences in so many different ways; all were greatly appreciated by my family.

“New Dublin Voices sent a beautiful tribute that we listened to when we had run out of words but not out of tears, just before the coffin was sealed. We will always cherish those final few moments we had with Brendan. Listening to it will always drive a lance through my heart.”
