Love vinyl?

In Carlow?

Alma Feely writes:

For The Record is organised by designCORE at IT Carlow to showcase iconic album cover design and runs in conjunction with Designweek 2015.

With the renaissance in vinyl, IT Carlow design lecturers Con Kennedy, Hilary Dempsey and PJ White have curated a showcase to the art form and magic of the 12” vinyl sleeve.

There’s an open invitation to the launch of For The Record tonight at 6pm in the restaurant at IT Carlow (upstairs), [Kilkenny Road, Carlow].

Attendees are being encouraged to bring along their own favourite album cover and share their anecdotes and memories of the 12” album cover.

Complimenting the exhibition is the website through which music and design fans can participate online and continue the conversation via twitter and Instagram feeds using the hashtag ForTheRecord.

For The Record features 100 album covers including  Nirvana’s Nevermind; The Pixies Surfer Rosa; The Beatles Sgt Pepper; Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells; Boy by U2 and Cat Steven’s Tea for the Tillerman.
