Nothing comes anywhere close to the true artistic supernova genius and the closest example of perfect unification of the form by Michel Gondry and Bjork in this classic…
As a lifelong fan of cinema, the wonderous Psychedelic empathy machine of the human condition that it is… I can remember vividly the first time I experienced listening and watching this video unfold before my eyes as it grabbed my attention, I seized up, frozen in position with utter wonder and amazement…

Sorcerer by Stevie Nicks and Sheryl Crow
Slightly Bemused writes:
Stevie Nicks. Anything by Stevie Nicks. I would just love to relive the time I saw her with Fleetwood Mac a number of years back (I am not disclosing anything). She was magical!
But what song to choose? I am going with Sorcerer, which first came out in the wonderful Streets of Fire, but I really like her version with Sheryl Crowe. If I win, can I get both of them in my prize?

Last week, with a Golden Discs voucher worth a blooming €25 on offer, I asked for your favourite song about or mentioning Spring.
You entered in your dozens.
But there could be only one winner.
Third Place:
Poisoning Pigeons In The Park by Tom Lehrer
Glat1 writes:
When I think of Spring, my mind turns to Tom Lehrer’s song about the delightful pastimes that Spring affords us all. This makes me smile every time I hear it. I’m sad that he gave up performing back in the 70’s, claiming that satire was dead once Henry Kissinger was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1973. On the other hand, he is still alive (aged 91), so there is still hope that he’ll do a retirement World Tour in the near future. I’ll be at the front of the line for tickets…
Runner up:
The Rain Song By Led Zeppelin
Rosette of Sirius writes:
I love the folksy ballad like feel to the start of the song that builds with intensity as Plant’s pitch and volume increases as does Page’s orchestral melody. A gorgeous and powerful song.
Winner:
Go Down Easy by John Martyn
Eamonn writes:
‘Curl around me like a fern in spring…..’
All I can say is , what an image…. oh my love. I know people judge the man – fair enough. But could he pen a tune?
