Northern Ireland’s Dept of Social Development (prop. Nelson McCausland DUP) have painted over one of Belfast’s few bits of decent, non-sectarian graffitti/ mural. It was a line from Teenage Kicks which was painted on a bridge at Bridge End on the fringe of east Belfast. It was painted as a tribute to the late John Peel.
About half a mile away at the bottom of the Ravenhill Road there is a UVF mural featuring a masked man with an assault rifle. This will, of course, remain untouched.
