For the health of all our beaux esprits,
Should K. Taylor come top of the tree,
Though the nation rejoice,
We’ll have no other choice
Than to execute Jimmy Magee.

O subs of the world, grab your guns
And dust off those Leprechaun puns.
There’s a Celt in the news:
Blah potatoes, blah booze
Blah car-bombs, blah schooled by the nuns.

Did you ever go boxing with Katie?
She’d knock the eye off a potaty
If the Olympics weren’t shite
I’d be watching the fight
Instead I’ll have tea and a pastry.

Hello you.

Meet Gregor Huber. He’s from the Black Forest Germany.. He’s a Katie fan. Gregorstumbled across Katie mania on a walk from Greystones to Bray, I nabbed him and nailed a T-shirt on him. Good man himself. Funded his trip here with the proceeds of all the money he saved after giving up smokes last year.

From Sports Mole:

Katie Taylor has booked her place in the gold medal bout of the women’s lightweight division with an eight-point crushing of Tajikistan’s Mavzuna Chorieva. Both fighters started cautiously in the first round and neither was willing to commit themselves early and fall behind. However, the judges felt that Taylor did enough to earn a 3-1 lead.
The Irishwoman started to show signs that she was getting on top in the second round and managed to stretch her lead to 7-3.
Chorieva was finding the target with a few shots but was overwhelmed by the volume and accuracy of Taylor’s shots.
Taylor had a stranglehold on the contest and led by six points in the final round. She went on to seal a 17-9 victory.
