Kathleen was just 20 when she went into Airmount Maternity Hospital in Waterford to have her second child in 1966…little Patrick was transferred to Temple Street Children’s Hospital in Dublin for a “small procedure” – and never seen again.

[Kathleen] also found out her little son’s heart and lungs had been removed for research purposes.

Scenes from a vigil at the back of Leinster House, Dublin  to pay tribute to and demand justice for the mothers and children who endured cruelty at the hands of the State and the Catholic Church. Testimonies from people who experienced life at the homes were heard, along with poems and songs.
