This week at Stag’s Head Raw (Upstairs at the Stag’s head, Dame Court, Dublin) we have Hidden Highways, a project featuring two of the country’s most talented songwriters, Carol Anne McGowan and Tim V. Smyth.

Mining a rich vein of stripped down folk and raw boned country, the two started working together in late 2010 and have been crafting wonderful folk-tinged numbers ever since. As always doors are at 8pm and admission is a mere €8.

Doors 8.00pm but admission is only €5.00.

Dermot Lambert, former front man of Blink, is playing a solo show at Stag’s Head Raw [upstairs in the Stag’s Head, Dame Court, Dublin] on Sunday. As he is only kicking off his solo career above is a blast from his past in the form of the video for Its Not My Fault by Blink from 1995. (Music played on Sunday may differ from that in the video).

€10. 8pm.

The Dublin band’s new album ‘After Autumn’ is released this very weekend. This is their single ‘Hunting’ from late last year and a rather nifty video directed by Cock and Bull TV’s Donnacha Coffey.
