American Bronze Turkeys on their farm in Sallins, Co Kildare, where farmer Gerry McEvoy has raised some 1,000 birds for Christmas. Gerry’s company Bronze Turkeys started in 2000 with just 12 turkeys. Bronze Turkeys sells direct from the farm to individuals. The birds roam across the open pastures surrounding the farm, and nibble on apples, wheat, kale, nettles, rapeseed, grass and herbs throughout the day. All birds are prepared on the farm and are sold oven ready with cooking instructions.
