Terry Hackett and Aedin – Little Darling

A tender father and daughter duet:

Ten years singing with the RTE Philharmonic Choir, along with many more years involved in performance and production, led Terry Hackett to start writing his own material.

“Little Darling”, is from his forthcoming album “Kookoo City” and is a duet with his daughter Aedín about the bond between parent and child; part fact, part aspirational and part acknowledgment of not being the perfect parent!

King Kong Company – Killswitch

A new single and video ahead of a performance by the Waterford based dance music exponents at the Electric Arena at the Electric Picnic on Friday at 8pm.

Sabrina Sheehan writes:

The King Kong crew teamed up with Neil McLellan (The Prodigy) on audio production duties and Dicemen Productions for the visuals. T

he track and video explore how social media uses us while we’re using it; a dark but topical subject matter, but this is a band who are no strangers to wrestling things that lurk in the shadows.

Expect the place to go off on Friday night when this banger is belted out

Please use yokes sensibly.

DOTT – Wedding Song

Galway-based DOTT writes:

On the third anniversary of Dott members’ Anna and Evan’s Wedding Day, Dott have released a new video for Wedding Song, taken from their new album Heart Swell.

The video, by Madra Dana, is a look back at what weddings looked like before Same Sex Marriage was legal while being juxtaposed with McCarthy’s lyrics which contemplate how the Marriage Referendum has changed love and matrimony for the better in Ireland.

The band are also celebrating the launch of the album with some gigs across Ireland [details at link below]…

The Riptide Movement – Plastic Oceans

Brian Scally writes:

The concept for the video is the brainchild of The Riptide Movement’s frontman Malachy Tuohy. Featuring beautifully powerful choreography from London-based Edifice Dance Theatre and dancers Carmine De Amicis and Harriet Waghorn (top), the video is a visually compelling expression of the need for change in the way we produce consume, and dispose of the inexplicable amounts of plastic globally on a daily basis…
