Ben Shorten, of RTÉ/Boston University’s College’s Century Ireland 1913-2013 project writes:
This Sunday, September 8 is the 100 year anniversary of the publishing of Yeats’ ‘September 1913’. It was printed in The Irish Times with the title ‘Romance in Ireland’.
This video gives a nice little background of the Art Gallery dispute. And interestingly, William Martin Murphy was the main opponent of Hugh Lane’s plan.
