Ami James, works on a tattoo for Ellen Griffin from Tralee [Co Kerry] who won a competition on RTE 2fm [Colm Hayes’ Driveby show] after submitting her idea for a new tattoo and telling listeners about her 4 previous tattoo disasters. Ami has joined forces with Irish tattoo artist, Ross Nagle to open a tattoo shop in Cork called the Love Hate Social Club…”

Fair play though, in fairness.

same as that, al. the tattoo doesn’t do anything for her – she looks great without it and i’m not mad on the design but each to their own.

Tattoos are handy when you’re out though – shows you they are old enough and have a history of making bad decisions.

Ireland needs more comments like this, it’s a more efficient way of identifying idiots.

I don’t have any myself but I’ve a fair idea what people who have a problem with them are like.

Probably to cue attacks from the 9-5 cubicle cretin that feels threatened by things they don’t understand.

Ami James is a better entrepreneur then tattoo artist, he hires great artists but isn’t one. She will regret the placement of that tattoo, it has too defined edges to be that big on its own on her leg and if she wears a short skirt similar to the one she is wearing in the pic she will have a candy skull mouth sticking out the bottom and the rest hidden. Placement is everything.

That’s not a tattoo. It’s a birthmark from when your mother tried to push you back in.

        1. Clampers Outside!

Shut it one ball…. yeah I know. I heard it all. Only one bollick on ya. Lost the other to a piercing didn’t ya! You should be called Manfewer not Mani.

Now close the zip on that mask and get in the corner until called upon, good lad.

I have been known to frequent an auld kilt from time to time so i have plenty of experience showing off my tattooed pins. Now if i could only find a short skirt to fit my fat ass into id be flying.

Have you actually seen what kids wear these days?
Dresses are now swimming togs! Look at Grafton Street around 9pm next Friday!

Funny enough i was in town the other day for the first time in ages and i s**t you not a girl and guy walked past me she was in a bra and hot pants and he was wearing a skinny long wife beater and i assume shorts but his wife beater was looking like a man dress. I was like fair play to yis it wouldn’t be for me but fair play to yis for having the balls to walk around mostly naked.

Mani, i mostly listen to industrial metal and some warp label records, so i could hardly talk about music that people think sounds just like noise.

    2. amelie

I agree. When I was young and naive I got something similar in the exact same position and I seriously regret placing it there. Love the tattoo but I would dearly love to have it moved elsewhere.

  2. Am i still On this Island

Not a great tattoo IMHO but not on my leg so as long as she likes it

And so begins the ridiculous questions and statements about a person own personal style.

That pretty red rose on the 19 year old shoulder will fade, and look like a cabbage when the shoulder is 40.

        1. Drogg

I got my first one 14 years ago and its still looking pretty fresh. Why are you so bothered about what other people will look like when there older? Are you that obsessed with peoples looks that it doesn’t matter if there a nice old person because to you they will look like some wrinkled tattooed freaks.

          1. Drogg

Ha ha Dee i’m a lost cause with my there’s, Sometimes I’m lucky i can communicate at all with my total lack of grammar.

Just because you get a butterfly on your ankle or the chinese symbol for love on your arse doesn’t automatically make you more interesting.

        1. Just sayin'

I’d even argue it makes you less interesting. You’re so insecure and dull you have to permanently scar yourself to make yourself more “interesting”.

          1. Dee

that or you appreciate art and you want some art on your body.. and you decide to get tattoos when you’re in your mid 30’s or late 40’s when you certainly aren’t insecure in any what so ever…
*insert what the hell are you talking about smiley here*

    1. Jess

Im sorry everyone doesn’t want to look exactly like you. May i offer you an egg in this trying time?

  3. Sean Zeitgeist

A tattoo of a skull! Outrageous new thinking. Has a paradigm ever been shifted so far before?

  4. Lazlo Panaflex

a tattoo of a mermaid with her jugs out on your forearm is the only tattoo worth getting

    1. scottser

ya think? i’ve always thought the tricolour with the IRA faction of your choice intitialed underneath was the favourite.

  5. Ellen Griffin

Thanks for all the “nice” comments… Water off a ducks arse as far as I am concerned!
Trilled with the tattoo, the placement, colour, design. My body, my choice, my reasons… Couldn’t be happier! Some of ye might be bitching but yer still talking about me aren’t ye… :D
