This beast (Cinemeccanica Victoria 8 dual gauge 35/70mm 6 track mag surround sound) will be screening Quest for Fire (1981) on 70mm film tomorrow at the IFI! First time in Ireland in this format. Probably last!?

As some of you may have heard, last month I suffered a complete rectal prolapse. I’m pleased to say that I am now very much on the mend and owe a great debt to all the medical staff who provided me with such expert care and attention and without whom I doubt I could ever have made it through. It is they who are the real hero’s not me. Thank you. XXX

having said that, a small amount of rectal wall is as yet protruding from my anus and causing great difficulty in several areas of my life. I’m not expecting a miracle but I am open to useful suggestions. Anyone ?

you only need two things in life -wd40 to make things go, and gaffa tape to make things stop. good luck with your prolapsed anus my friend.

In relation to the trailer being grainy and poorly lit, I would imagine the trailer you saw is not the one that’s being screened with the Cinemeccanica Victoria 8 dual gauge 35/70mm 6 track mag surround sound as it states above it’s being screened tomorrow.

The IFI really is a hidden treasure.
It’s a bit out of the way and not advertised much it seems to me.

Yeah, really out of the way in the dead centre of town.
I think you are confusing it with the lighthouse cinema.

I think Anne is referring to the limited presence the IFI has, with no ‘shop-front” and both entrances located on the ‘less-interesting’ roads of Temple Bar.

Anyway, this is a great movie, and I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t seen it..
It’s funny, especially during the sex scenes.
          BEST stoner movie ever too.

I’ve seen it maybe 20 times already, but I might give it another go.
