A new mural by Berlin-based French street artist MTO,  for ‘Hit The North’ Culture Night in Belfast.

The mural at Talbot Street in the yard of the Northern Ireland War Memorial depicts the Greek sophist philosopher Protagoras, a proponent of agnosticism, who wrote:

Concerning the gods, I have no means of knowing whether they exist or not or of what sort they may be, because of the obscurity of the subject, and the brevity of human life.

It’s a good thing Dr Paisley’s not around to hear that kind of talk so it is.

Great work. But does the message on agnosticism gets through? I see more of a proposition that the biggest enemy of peace is (organized) religion, but that might be more supportive of atheism.
