Solas.

It replaced Fás.

But only in name.

Via Roz at PolitcalWorld.org

“Solas the ‘Further Education and Training Authority’ is advertising for a spin doctor at a package of €80€97,000. Solas currently has three deputy CEOs at a cost of €500,000, a CEO at a cost of €175.000 and seven Directors at a cost of €700,000 euros. This entire crew cost the taxpayer over €2 million when full packages are calculated…
…It will be interesting to hear the new ‘on the record spokesperson’ explaining the shortage of apprentices and the failure of Solas in their manpower planning to ensure that as we head out of depression that we have a sufficient supply of apprentices to meet the demand…”

Supply & demand, the pool that hosts those who can still run & maintain a 1995 ThinkPad is becoming ever shallow.

Not to get in the way of giving Solas/Fás a kick – but the ad says that the salary is “€79,401 – €97,194 per annum inclusive of two long service increments” Where did the “package in excess of €100,000” come from???

€79,401 – €97,194 per annum doesn’t sound as snappy as €100k. Some seriously questionable things on bs today. First Stephen gets tarred as a government stooge because his name is Stephen and now outright falsehoods.

      Bad form, Broadsheet.

On Orla’s say alone? She was wrong about the picture location and doesn’t outright say it’s one and the same. Is there something I’m missing?

Another one of those government agencies with a grating gaelic name……utter w*nk!

One day we’ll wake up to the creation of a government agency which monitors the self-expulsion of flatulent gas known as…

    ‘Thóin’
