Karl’s Budget 2015 calculator (powered by TaxCalc.ie) now includes all of this afternoon’s data.

The calculator handles the following changes:

  • USC rates changed
  • Incomes of €12,012 or less are exempt
  • €0 to €12,012 @ 1.5%
  • €12,013 to €17,576 @ 3.5%
  • €17,577 to €70,044 @ 7%
  • €70,044 to €100,000 @8%
  • PAYE income in excess of €100,000 @ 8%
  • Self-employed income in excess of €100,000 @ 11%
  • Standard rate band of income tax increased by €1,000 from €32,800 to €33,800 for single individuals and from €41,800 to €42,800 for married one earner couples.
  • Top rate of income tax dropped from 41% to 40%
  • Extra €5 a month per child for Child Benefits

    WOO HOO! I get 32 whole extra snots a month. I’ll DEFFO vote FG now: that really takes the sting out of the water charges and USC.

      Actually it’s not.. a ‘no-no’…. it’s quite the done thing, perfectly acceptable – sartorially speaking – in all but formal circumstances.

      That said, that’s not a navy suit.

      The problem with that suit is that it’s too small for him and the trousers are far too tight in the lower leg. There’s no appropriate break in the hem and this will cause too high a rise in the leg…

    Karl, your tax calculator doesn´t have an “unemployed” drop down. Unemployed people pay tax too.

    Just change your joint assessment marginal band from €66,600 to €67,600 and you’ll have a nice calculator there

    I get that you need snappy labels for something like this but I hope everyone gets that public servants are PAYE workers too right?

      The reason for the distinction is to account for the mandatory pension contribution that public servants make. I used not to have that in and I got a heap of complaints about it.
