Economies are ranked on their ease of doing business, from 1–189. A high ease of doing business ranking means the regulatory environment is more conducive to the starting and operation of a local firm.

Wouldn’t it be more pertinent to underline the number 13.
Or the 6 we got for “Paying Taxes”, which I guess means global companies find it very difficult to pay taxes here.
So, basically our construction industries reigns have been tightened to prevent willy-nilly planning approvals…. that’s a good thing then.
Or am I reading that wrong……
Can’t be planning permits, planning here and the UK are pretty much identical

Canada has an insanely high ‘getting electricity’ score and they do alright for themselves.

Given the disparity in results (ease of doing business etc) it would be natural to question the quality of the data and methodology. Might require some thought, effort and knowledge of the construction industry.
But Enda said we were the best little country in the world to do business, and he wouldn’t lie.
