Go round the corner to Roly’s and you’ll get a cheaper coffee, you twits.

€4.25 in The Herbert Park Hotel

€2.00 in Roly’s to take out (any size) or €2.40 to sit in.

No competition, Roly’s is where I write most of my Broadsheet rants from!!!!

I wouldn’t say it’s the best coffee around, but it’s great value for 2 snots. Their chocolate twist thingies are a lovely treat for breakfast.

Herbert park only employ trinity graduates. Trinity graduates are more expensive to employ because of their superiority.

In fairness to the Herbert Park Hotel their coffee comes with a macaroon and little shot of water as standard. It’s presented better than any other coffee I’ve seen.

That €4.25 is out of context without a pic. Still a little steep but not terrible value if you could see what they offer for it.

    Solution 1: Don’t go back.
Solution 2: If you feel ripped off, in any shop/pub/cafe, simply hand the product back and say “No thanks, im not paying those prices”.

It’s too late if you have ordered it, there is a menu available. Simple mental rule I made at about 7 years of age. If I am buying something I ask “how much is it?” or I read the menu or price list. I then make a swift mental assessment of value versus satisfaction. Based on the results of that one either makes the purchase or goes elsewhere. It’s called a market!! Now get over yourselves and get back to work.

Well said. It’s all about choice.
I’ve paid €4.25 for a coffee in a china cup while seated in a soft elegant arm chair listening to Chopin and thoroughly enjoyed it. Other times a €2 cup on the street is just fine.

how many times have you asked for the price of a pint /spirit or glass of wine before ordering?

Solution 3: Let it serve as a warning to others. What do Broadsheet commenters have against consumer awareness?
