A copy of D’You Remember Yer Man? (By Ruan Van Vilet and Bobby Ahearne) to the first reader who can NAME all the Dublin characters above.
Ruan’s drawings and Bobby’s text explore the city’s “lovable oddballs, quirky miscreants, out-and-out chancers and the certifiably insane”.
In the case of Billy in the Bowl, all four.
A perfect Xmas stocking filler for the daycent skin close to you.
So.

Sure nothing like making fun and profit from peoples mental illness!
or immortalise them forever in print, as famous dublin characters .. as described on the cover.
Rob, some of them suffered, with quite serious mental illnesses they were not characters but people who needed medical or psychological supports, rather than ridicule and imortality in print.
Read the book then yeah?
Yes. They should rightly be ignored and forgotten. As we should do with all mentally ill people we cannot/did not help. Because it’s not as if this book would cause people to look back with our current awareness of mental illness and think of what we could have done to help these people and people like them in future or anything.
I believe some profits from this book are going towards a mental illness charity? I believe that was mention when this first came up.
