HOW DO YOU KNOW IT’S CHINESE?!?!?!
Most clothing companies use Lee and Fung, who in turn source from many countries.

Seriously though, anybody know what it says, without making a wise/racist crack about takeaways? It’s probably just details about batches or something, but I seem to remember a story of someone who got a paper lantern that was made in China. There was a note inside detailing the terrible work conditions in the factory.

If you can detail anything in 8 characters, then maybe we should all learn Chinese, Twitter would be transformed, and Twitlonger would be redundant.

I agree with you though, be interested to know what it says particularly given the perception of poor working conditions in Asian factories.

8 words *and* characters, I don’t know Chinese but don’t they have thousands of characters with each one representing a word?

You jest, but it is a very compact language. you can fit a lot of text into a twitter length message, compared to the English language. There’s a talk about it somewhere on the TED site.. I’ll try and follow up with a link.

It’s a person’s name followed by a note indicating five ‘cases’ or ‘lots’, presumably confirming they have completed same (for about €0.05).

“I know you don’t normally do this, but can you tell everyone I’m one of the 5 Labour Party voters in Ireland”

That looks like someone’s name. Zhang Gui Ying. It says “Zhang Gui Ying – 5 pieces”. The measure word in this case which “pieces” refers to is used for articles of clothing.

The handwriting is really bad. It looks like it was written by a child or …a foreigner.
