I hope NAMA is getting well rewarded for the use of their building as a giant advertising hoarding.
Anyone know what the law on this sort of thing is? The buildings are vacant so the light isn’t disturbing anyone in there….
‘Wall Banners’ / ‘Building Wraps’ are approved by the DCC, and usually for two weeks at a time. I’d imagine these projections go through the same approval process.
My tuppence.
You’d wanna be crackers to join a gym at this time of year.
I have a bike and feet. Don’t need a gym.
Your muscles are probably going to pot, and walking (unless it’s brisk) isn’t enough to get your heart rate up to levels considered desirable to maintain fitness, you’re probably on better ground with the bike, but cycling around the stop-go city which is mostly flat probably wouldn’t be enough. Face it, in the modern sedentary world, we do need gyms.
Yes, I agree, passive day to day commute cycling in the city is not much good. But, better than nothing. Also, getting out and about in the evenings for an hour at a time is… and very enjoyable, hail, rain or shine :) …I’m just averse to the routine and self obsessiveness that I see in may gym users….
I came across this quote last week that struck a cord with me – “If we are all obsessed with being well individually, we will not be well together.”
It’s from this article – http://www.theguardian.com/books/2015/jan/22/the-wellness-syndrome-carl-cederstrom-andre-spicer-persuasive-diagnosis

…and our mountains, parks and seafronts.
I’d rather be exercising in the great outdoors than in a sweaty gym with people eyeing me up CONSTANTLY.
They crave your pasta for the quick energy release Hoop :)
You can do both you know, just because you join a gym doesn’t mean you’re forever condemned to spend all your free time there. 40 mins 2 or 3 times a week is plenty for me anyway. Better equipped for me mountains, parks and football playing thereafter!
Why – are you ‘not bad looking’?
On here – we all dig you for your wit and intelligence – if that’s any consolation.
Its like if Batman put on weight but Commissioner Gordon didnt know how to bring it up…
Yes. Yes.
