1. When Ryan Gosling is not acting, breaking up fights or being the face of the feminmeme he is making movies. This one is about a mother trying her best for her two kids in a Detroit ruined by a dammed river and gangsters.
2. Gosling has taken a more then a little inspiration from the work of Nicolas Winding Refn who he teamed up with for Drive (2011) and Only God Forgives (2013). He must also watch a lot of David Lynch and Terrence Malick movies.
3. By ‘a little inspiration’ we do mean Oasis levels of inspiration.
4. The trailer looks like a cool art film that we would like to see. The critics make us want to burn it with fire.
