Lobsters?
Lupin?
Cashews!?

I thought this ridiculous allergen notice might amuse you. Omniplex have to post warnings about potential lobster in popcorn and molluscs in pick’n’mix! Irish health and safety has gone a bit over the top no?

Sounds like a well balanced diet to me.
It might seem over the top, but if you suffered from severe anaphylaxis triggered by any one of those items you’d be thankful for the notice, surely.
Also useful for vegans and vegetarians, I’d have thought.
This is the opposite in fact. By listing every declarable allergen they are not giving any useful information to allergy sufferers. It’s an ass covering exercise to avoid litigation, which is unfortunately becoming increasingly neccessary.
+Collywobble…these are disclaimers. People with allergies, especially those which can bring on anaphylaxis, are usually ultra-careful.
It’s good to have reminders though, especially if you’re buying for someone else, particularly kids who’ll go straight for most of the things on that list.
It seems so broad as to be a bit useless. Do the cola bottles contain fish? Is there mustard in the vanilla ice-cream?
I was in a cinema about 2 years ago when some muppet had added choc peanuts to the choc raisins.I called the manger over & explained just how serious that could be.
Problem was solved when they took the choc peanut sticker and stuck a “&” between it and the choc raisins.
Missing from list:
scabs, dandruff, faecal matter, thrush, Barry, mucus.
Does “mucus” cover semen, or is that covered by “Barry”, or is “Barry” covered in both?
Barry probably covers all of those
Barry is a bit of a bacterial pot-pourri.
*sob*
In fairness, they have sulphur dioxide which is pretty much the best part of a fart.
No that would be hydrogen (di) sulphide – rotten eggs
It’s not really Health and Safety going over the top; it’s more Health and Safety looking at us becoming the second most litigious country in the world and scrambling to defend against the kind of crazy-ass lawsuits you see in the courts here and in the US.
Especially in the US. Yeeesh…
We view ourselves as bad, but there was a European comparison thrown up here a year or two ago that showed we as a nation are far from being as litigous as the US or some of our neighbours.
Where we do score high in that mix though, is the payouts here are higher than most European countries.
Can’t recall the source of that, but I do recall readin’ it like :)
Ah to feck, don’t tease like that, find the study! :D
Carb is a crustacean?
I got an awful dose of carbs a few years back!
Could really go for some carb calws now.

all the more reason to bring your own snacks with you, aside from the expense.
Aye. Your own popcorn and a nice slice of home-made cheesecake, for instance. Though finding cheesecake bits mashed into the bum of your jeans when you get home can lead to retroactive embarrassment.
Which is why you should always take your pants off at the movies.
At a Safepass course a number of years ago I was asked why I thought the course might be important by the instructor – I replied that it was to primarily designed to reduce legal exposure of employers of manual labour – He said I was not incorrect, but I still had to sit through 8 hours of it…
If you got food allergies, be sensible and prepare your own food.
The cinema is pretty awful anyway. Stink of popcorn….urgh
And farts and many-times-breathed air.
…and that’s before they switch off the ventilation half way through the movie.
Traces of werewolves?
Having made the nacho “cheese sauce” in Cineworld on Parnell St back in the day this list is not improbable.
….too much information Lu
