As a vegan and someone health conscious, McDonalds is the most vile corporation in the world, next to Monsanto.
Two books I read a century ago or more:
    The Corporation by Joel Bakan
    No Logo by Naomi Klein.
Why anyone eats there is beyond me. I wouldn’t even support them by ordering a coffee!

Because the world is a terrible place with no hope of redemption except in the delight of eating delicious processed meat?

Well there are plenty who don’t read books nor actively support or moralise about US corporations but just like burgers.

Reminds me of that joke about knowing someone’s a vegan as they’ll always tell you.
      Good for you.
I don’t care, though. I love Mickey Ds. I love the smell of it. Happy Meals sobered me up before getting into taxis for years. I love their apple pies, their donuts, their breakfasts.
In fact, I’m tempted to drive over there for lunch now. Mmmmm.

Are the upper case and lower case (A)(a)ndyourpointiswhatexactlys different people, or just different devices? I need to know.

        1. Andyourpointiswhatexactly

Devices. I’m working from home, near a drive-thru Mickey Ds, today.
Is uppercase Andy more of a bawbag? Maybe. Working from home is boring, so I launch into high dudgeon more quickly, probably.

Their breakfasts were designed by someone who understands hangovers. I usually go out of my way to support non-chain, non-corporate, Irish-owned establishments for coffee or food but sometimes nothings beats a Mackers brekkie.

I heard the hardest thing about being vegan is finding the time to tell everybody that you’re vegan

Oh, long named lady, have you ever ate a double quarter pounder with cheese, 6 nuggets and some chips-all washed down with a fanta? Nothing will cure a bad hangover better. No, it’s not healthy but I don’t think that it was ever claiming to be. Now, vegan off.

      1. Andyourpointiswhatexactly

Never fanta. Diet coke for me. I’m watching my figure, see.
I wouldn’t even need to be hungover to eat that. I’ve a fine healthy appetite.

They certainly seem to be doing something right – lots of familys could not afford to bring their kids out for a meal in a clean well run restaurant if it wasn’t for McDonalds. Also because of the level of scrutiny they are under you know the food is safer than any other chain restaurant in the country.

…and which Dublin branch was recently closed AGAIN for violations to he food safely act? Pah! safer me hooley. Which consession do you run Alison?

Well read, gives a crap, Deirdre, actually.
But then, you’d think that doing something good for the environment & animal welfare, might be a good thing but no, people hate that someone else is doing something good and try to be-little veganism at every given opportunity… the other response is “oh I couldn’t do that” or ” I couldn’t give up cheese” etc.. or at a cafe once, a guy said ” I just don’t get veganism”.. it’s pretty easy to “get” if one was bothered to read up about it. I don’t “get” football/soccer but I don’t put football supporters down all the time. It’s a good form of exercise for those that play it and a good day out for the supporters I guess.. other than that?
People do what their parents did and their grandparents did and listen to the media and the diary industry…… Anyway, it’s not like I’m going to actually make anyone dig a little deeper and read up on anything.. Carry on.. With populations soaring and meat supplies not able to keep up.. sooner or later, yous will all be eating more veg and less or no meat, chat to you then! ;)
