Is the company under new ownership, or did the owner have a change of heart, or did he step aside as manager in order that it survive?

Lulled into a state of perpetual bored and annoyance by the pointing fingers, twitching curtains brigade that I may now just not bother voting in May.

I know! All this talk of marriage equality. One would think that we are actually going to have a referendum on this issue and that it matters a lot to some people. In the run up to the Nice ( I and II) and Lisbon Treaties Referenda, I did notice a lot of talk about these issues. Crazy, eh? Best to stay at home.

Im sure they’ll be overwhelmed by the response they get from the gay community who will have totally forgotten about that other incident where they didnt want to encourage homosexuality in their shop…

I commented on here a couple of months ago how it was under new ownership, but someone came along to pooh pooh that. Provided a link and all. Will try and find it.

seems a little hard to swallow that the owners sold their shop because of their beliefs, but still managed to keep the exact name and company logo…

If skiing a business as a going concern, egg works you not include the name, branding, etc?

Indeed. According to the Companies Office, they’re still owned by the same eejit. He’s still a director too.

There’s a slight but important difference between the Daintree thing and that florist. Daintree declined to stock certain products they didn’t stop serving gay customers.

Some vile people talk out of their shitter
Telling lies about Savile and Glitter
    But enlightened Daintree
    Will turn bigotry
    Into heart-shaped and glamourous litter

Think it might have been the Daily Mail : said Savile and Glitter were both supporters of gay marriage…

Nice spin, it’s not like some greater equality warrior came and forcibly closed the place down.

Daintree looks to be under new ownership alright. Says on the shredofdecency website:

Daintree Paper is under new ownership. It was purchased by Ger and Lar Barron in March 2014. Daintree Paper believe in equality for all and are supporting the Yes campaign in the marriage equality referendum
