1916 – People take to the streets to demand equality and freedom from tyranny
2015 – People take the street to demand free stuff
It would be much more relevant to show the marriage equality demonstrations and posters rather than the Free Water for Wasters posters.

In 1916, there was a parliament (albeit a UK parliament) with elected representatives, there was local government, there were courts, there was a civil service and there was rule of law.
If that’s tyranny, well blow my brains out now!
Ireland in 1916 was not a tyranny. This is a classic case of the great Irish myth of ‘800 years of suppression’ which of course was nonsense. Sadly there are people (Sinn Fein) who still confuse propaganda with history.
The Irony is, someone who claims to be a frenchman giving out about the campaign of a country to become a republic.

There are issues with the Gardai, every police force goes through scandal. But one thing I am certain of is that no member of An Garda Siochana would leave a child in their house on their own.
I have made this point time and time again, but here goes: O’Connell street is 500m long by 50m wide. That’s 25,000 m/sq. For 50,000 people to fit on that street requires a density of 2 people per m/sq. 4 is a mosh pit so we can assume that 2 is an upper limit. 50,000 people, with 20,000-30,000 more likely is not the “beginning” of any kind of movement especially when 100,000+ have gone before it last November.
We are now beginning to see the entrenchment of group-think in the water protest movement. At every march they are being deluded into thinking that their movement is advancing, that more people are joining it and that their chances of success are increasing. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Have fun with it anyway.
