what a horrific matrix like waste of space and energy.
It’s along the San Andreas Fault, so they couldn’t build too many high-rise buildings or skyscrapers, but it is a massive sprawl; I used to live in Santa Monica, but before I moved there, I read in a tourist handi-book that L.A. and all it’s cities covers an area the size of Ireland, which I found hard to believe initially, but it’s only when you fly over the city you can actually see how huge it is.
not sure you need high rise just high density. better for everyone. all you need is planners uncorrupted by developers,road builders,money,car companies etc… http://www.treehugger.com/urban-design/you-cant-set-shop-side-expressway.html
