Butter-fingered former Irish rugby international, ex-Labour party leader and one time Tánaiste Dick Spring will chair the board for Ireland’s rugby World Cup 2023 bid.

Brian O’Driscoll has been appointed in an ambassadorial role.

Jobs, for the boys loike.

I did not know old Dick was quite the sportsman. Football & hurling for Kerry, as well as playing for Munster, London Irish and Ireland. Quite impressive.

Aye, and in those days it was one of two jobs after that… banking or politics. The GAA and 80s rugby were a terrible scourge on the youth, both being stepping stones to harder and…. oh..

What do you mean “Jobs, for the boys loike” ? I can think of several obvious reasons why each of them deserve to be on the board.

The job does not command the respect of capitalising and putting foddahs in the right place

BTW. I saw the ambassador earlier today
Some might call it a diplomatic pouch
But I know it as a man bag
