    Found one of those on a window sill years ago. Thankfully dead.
    It was about 2 inches in length including stinger. Swiftly binned it.

    Looks like a completely harmless wood wasp. That big stinger is not actually a stinger but an ovipositor which is used to plant eggs into wood.

    Probably best to burn the house down though, just in case.

    That’s the Asian Nostril Expander. Usually lays high in the human nostril. Usually survivable if treated before the nest reaches the brain.

      No its not tails and wings are wrong shape. Given the time of year I would suggest its a cockroach, probably a female full of eggs
