“And so it begins… Finally investigating how they are going to clean up Grafton Street and possibly put the sealant on the granite that they promised. They’ll be a long time at it with that buffer.”

Anyone?

    About fecking time!
I wonder if they could also get rid of those too-loud buskers. Amps should be banned, I think.

bit harsh? just cos they annoy you on one street means the rest of the country has to suffer?

and people mindlessly just coming to a full stop when you’d just caught a good slip stream…

+1 for the banning of amps. Like buskers and street performers but not when I can hear them from 50m away, and when I can still hear the last one while passing the next one.

TooOOOOOTTTTTally agree. Ban the bloody amps. I love there being buskers on grafton st (or anywhere else) but this amped up nonsense is a pain in the ear holes.

That new paving is f*cking horrible, disgraceful for one our main thoroughfares
It looked dirty the day they put it down.
The old red brick was so nice and colourful

“The old red brick was so nice and colorful”

It was poorly maintained and the cream tiles were a slip hazard in wet weather.

I wish they’d replaced it with an updated version of the old red cobble lock, that’s such a concrete-coloured granite.

Clean or not, the new paving is horrific. And the new street lights look like they came out of a Kinder Egg.

Agree. Grafton Street now looks like any homogenised city shopping / high street. Bland, gum-dotted concrete, cloned lights, cloned stores and incessant noise pollution from amps. A real shame.

just like every other high street in Engerland…..now then I know there’s a Boots but where’s the Iceland innit?

  6. Dublinentendre

Dublin isn’t a living city anymore- it has just been turned into a bland shopping center now, nothing more. All its character is now gone.

This is not sunny Spain or LA- red brick suited Dublin- white stone, concrete and steel just looks miserable in the rain. Shocking the way they have ruined the city in recent years.

Not to mention those break dancers who think it’s fine to cordon off 95% of the street for themselves so they can spin on their heads.

I love breaking, but come on and get the fupp out of my way. Thanks.
