Seo Linn.

Stiofán, Keith, Daithí, Kev, Cathal and Ringo Conor.

The Irish-language band behind the joyous Colaiste Lurgan musical numbers have taken to Kickstarter to pay for the recording of an album and a tour and to set up workshops where they can share their bracing vision of Irish music to young and old.

They say:

We know that we are on the path to generating a new kind of Irish music, one that has the potential to portray the Irish language in a progressive, relevant light. We want to make Irish available. Can you help?…

    Made it to 3 seconds.

If they want to make Irish / Irish Music progressive they’d be better off if it didn’t sound like Mumford & The Blowfish.

Easy for you to sit there and disregard in two minutes something that took work, self doubt and courage

I find it a little culty. Not like the band, but the one with the fruit punch.

I met Latin outside the polling booth a few weeks ago and it was very quick to point out it had proudly voted ‘Yes’. So you’d be surprised.

    good stuff.

not personally a fan of the mumfordy music for want of a better description, but fair play to them & good luck (nó beir bua agus beannacht)

…the Colaiste Lurgan stuff is brilliant, really well produced and always pleasing…but it’s clever covers of tunes…it’s not ‘new Irish music’…time to g̶r̶o̶w̶ ̶u̶p̶ move on lads…did I mention Kila?

Jeez lads everyone knows the best way to make money from Irish is taking taxpayers money.

Refreshing honesty. I’m not too fussed on them but my childers and their friends have their toons downloaded, or whatever they do now instead of taping stuff off 2FM on a Saturday, and they know all their songs and sing them in minibuses on their way to blitzes and matches and youth club trips, so I suppose that counts for something. Bloody posey cool kids they are an’ all.
