Last night.

Tom Flynn (above) writes:

Remember East 17? No exaggeration this was me a minute before and during their Academy [Dublin] gig last night…Between 20-30 people all scattered around the venue…

That’s showbiz.

You are actively advertising the fact that you were one of the 20-30 sad acts that bought tickets to an East-17 gig in 2015.

By all accounts, Tony Mortimer had a solo record deal and the boyband phenomenon really took off so the record company asked him to bring along his mates to form the band.

Quite sad to see the way Brian Harvey has ended up.

Oh dear, should’ve just packed it in and went to the bar.

When both the act and crowd are embarrassed it’s time to stop.

Things must’ve been very bad; the Academy gig for East 17 was being advertised via posters in a number of locations as far south as here in Carlow Town in a number of locations in the past week to a fortnight. I thought that was unusual but desperate times call for desperate measures etc.!

It’s gas how the only 2 original members left are the ones who barely sung the first time around.

Please, let us never forget that Brian Harvey ran himself over in his own car having OD’d on potatoes. This was the apex of his very existence

      from wiki:
In January 2015, Brian Harvey posted a video online of himself smashing up his platinum discs he was awarded with the band E-17. According to the video he was demonstrating “That’s what I think of your f****** music industry.” In a later video, he returns to tidy up and says: “I’m a peaceful person, and I pick my rubbish up.” [6]

Extremely grim but as Andrew pointed out wiki is yer only man.

Neither Tony Mortimer nor Brian Harvey are in the band now.

I can easily understand only 30 people showing up.

    Still though, Jaysus.

Once saw EMF with about 50 other people in the Tivoli (capacity about 2000) – great gig, we leapt around like drunken idiots (which we were).

Shakin Stevens apparently played the (old) Point Depot to about 200 people – the Point held about 8000 at the time. I wasn’t at that one.
