32Extracts from the chronicle of a year long experiment carried out on the wall of an electricity substation in east London by UK street artist Mobstr, who sez of it:

I cycled past this wall on the way to work for years. I noticed that the graffiti within the red area was ‘buffed’ with red paint. However, graffiti outside of the red area would be removed via pressure washing.. this prompted the start of an experiment. Unlike other works, I was very uncertain as to what results it would yield.

really love the ‘at the expense of taxpayers’ argument. I’m pretty sure tax wasn’t increased to pay for the prank

Mmmm…no…but tax was spent on this that might have been spent on something else (or just wasted).

Where does street art end and vandalism begin? Now there’s a question. I’m preparing a 36 hour video art piece discussing that with myself.

I think that street art is something done for the enjoyment of other people and the person doing it. It also has a meaning to it, its not just some random unreadable junk. Vandalism however, is more meanless and is done for the sake of doing it. I have a feeling that your reports already finished but I thought that it was an interesting topic and mabey someone might find it useful.

seeing as resources are finite, it’s inevitable that something else the council could have been doing wasn’t done.

still, it was probably worth it.

I’ve seen it before so i can safely report that the only thing I learned from this is that it took 9 ‘page down’ clicks (i could see mousewheel scrolling would just strain my finger) to get to the next story.

Is the ‘Click for more’ feature dead and buried or still being retooled?

Almost as bad as the feller sending the poorly-addressed post challenges to An Post.

Can only hope that the resources wasted by clearing up this dick’s vandalism cost him or his family in some other social services type manner. Oh no wait sorry it’s all a bit of fun as long as it’s not your wall he’s writing on while you’re out working to pay for his paint.

This was all a bot of fun. I dont see how this would come out of anyones taxes its like what 1 bucket of paint and the usage of a power sparyer 6-7 times. I thought that this was a great artical and hagglers should spend there time elsewhere! This was hilarious and sounds like it was a lot of fun, I bet it was awsome to drive to work everyday and see what else he had come up with!
