If IW were actually serious about water conservation more than just setting up whatever quick fix income earner they, the govt/IMF/Troika, can, they’d have been running an educational programme on this and the water wasted.

But IW in reality doesn’t give a monkey’s toss about water conservation, in all truth and fairness.

That’s an international initiative been running for a number of years and organised here by An Taisce. Credit where credit is due, in fairness.

IW lend support, which is good, don’t get me wrong. But they haven’t done much, if anything, themselves.

My point is that the whole water conservation by end user isn’t as big a concern here on this island… only for the 40%+ lost to leaks.

“I can’t POSSIBLY conserve water because the gubberment never told me how!”

Bear in mind that the reason there’s a flat rate is because protesters demanded it.

Plus the amount of uproar at ‘money wasting’ when IW did actually make a video to explain to process of water treatment, etc.

I’m increasingly convinced that a large minority of Irish people are constant moaners who expect to be spoon-fed by the government.

That’s true and thanks be to God that they’re going to learn the right thing from exiles and discards working at the checkout in Macy’s

This is all basic knowledge – as in, way before IW came to the toilet party – that you flush away nowt that is non-degradeable. Every school class in the country should be brought to a sewage treatment facility to see how it’s all processed. Not as unpleasant as you might think. But there just isn’t a conservation / education / best practice role within IW at all (as many have rightly pointed out here and elsewhere). Shame.
