As someone has already mentioned on Reddit, the Driver Theory Test is – in part – an English language literacy test.
Plenty of presumably literate people ignore these symbols in the one way Tesco carpark in Dundrum.
It’s a one-off test, treated a bit like the leaving… the focus is only on remembering it long enough to pass.
And yet every day I see people treat these as stop lines!
In fairness, the signs are designed to be as clear and self explanatory as possible. And for the theory test, I’m sure they do a check of various difficult levels of signs.
Doesn’t explain why people still ignore them though!
