‘He Loves His Scooter’

I know you don’t normally do this… but the young lad’s navy maxi-micro scooter was left in the back of a grey Toyota Avensis taxi between Ranelagh rank [Dublin 6] and Ballyogen [Dublin 18] last Thursday [August 20] around 5.30pm. He loves his scooter and he’ll need it starting back to school next week.
The driver was “from the country” and had some devotional pictures on the dashboard. It would be great if any of your readers knew this driver or where the scooter was…

  1. Just sayin'

I was thinking why wouldn’t mark just replace it. Then I saw that those thing cost €150!

Taxi drivers are supposed to hand it in to a Garda Station. Contact your local one. This may also help –

Maybe give the driver a day or two to get around to it!

Might be worthwhile going back to Ranelagh rank as you’ll find a lot of drivers would be regulars on that particular rank .

Thanks for the advice – we’re in touch with Store St Garda station but no show so far. I’m determined to find it :-)

i was going to say carriage office but:
    Information about the Carriage Office
The Carriage Office no longer deals with lost property. There are 5 designated Garda stations in the Dublin area that manage property that has been found in taxis. The stations are:

    Irishtown: 01 666 9600
    Store Street: 01 666 8000
    Finglas: 01 666 7500
    Tallaght: 01 666 6000
    Shankill: 01 666 5900

they are an expensive scooter, we have one and i tell you though they last and they grow with the kid so hopefully your lad gets his back.. if he picked you up in a certain location, i’d maybe pull over a few taxis to ask them in same location… or if really dedicated, wait in the area a few hours around the same time of day and see if you spot him…

    “maxi-micro”? Dumb name.
Also why did the taxi-driver not open the boot where the scooter was when the journey was up?
