I want to take this opportunity to say that those Poorly Drawn Lines cartoons you publish ever day or so are complete rubbish.

That’s what I immediately thought too. Good old 1920’s New York air, so full of pollutants you can stir it with a stick.

I’m so glad they left Grand Central Station in all its art deco glory. I’ve actually seen that sun streaming picture credited to Penn Station which was equally as beautiful, before they knocked it down and uglified it for Madison Square Gardens.

Some train stations in America are worth the journey all by themselves. Union Station(s) in Washington, Chicago and Los Angeles are all beautiful peices of architecture.

Listened to a Podcast on this recently: 99% invisible I think.

Grand Central was done up to look like the above after that first version of Penn Station was built. Very competitive the aul NYC building scene back in the day.

Penn is such a hole now. But hey, we’ve Madison Square Gardens now, right?!

9/11 was actually a poorly executed attempt to knock down the buildings that block the sun from those windows.
