Kaylum Kenny who has autism and his school care worker Venie Mullett during a special needs school cutback protest in 2012

Maire writes:

Last night at least one parent camped outside a special primary school, hoping to access a place there for their child who has autism. The application forms for limited places are available from today. This parent is desperate for their child’s educational needs to be met as per law (EPSEN Act 2004….still not fully implemented). Shame on those accountable:
I can’t post the name of the school, but this is happening. They can’t take more than a few, but sweet Jesus, what is our society like? Parents of SEN children have enough to cope with without having to fight for constitutional rights for their children…

that’s terrible sad. I’ve some experience of the pain of trying to get special needs assistance but nothing like this.
When recovery is mentioned in the press and by government let this article remind you all that we have a long way to go. It’s a sad state of affairs with the whopping and back slapping that goes on in government circles , some of our citizens cannot get basic assistance.
    Shame.

Agreed but if you mention increased taxation for funding essential services anywhere on broadsheet you get nowhere.

People paying their AirBnB taxes could help pay for this.
People paying their water charges to get Irish Water off the government balance sheet, freeing up millions could pay for this.
Having a serious white-collar crime unit in the style of the CAB would help pay for this.

A great many things could be fixed if people put their cash where their short-lived anger over these kinds of issues was.

You seen any of that money the Shinners promised you yet, or do you shill for murderers pro bono?

Shame all those Northern Bank notes never showed up.

Two can play this game. :)

Lol, on another thread you stated “The clinging to Civil War politics is the most tedious pain in the gee ever.” yet you call supporters of Sinn Fein “shinners”. Not very consistent are you.

I thought I’d come down to your level of name-calling, shill-calling and general bullpoo for a bit.

all the money being poured into the celebration of the rising next year should be diverted into something a bit more worthwhile.
