I remember the cross body bag with the phone holder on it that came free with the phone!
Does anyone else remember the phone offer from the Irish Times – 10 or 20 tokens I think and you got a phone for £19.99.

I remember my Da coming home with a portable TV under his arm that he got free for buying a mobile phone. This was 1997. Probably was bill pay, not ready to go. But still. A portable TV!
These days we have portable TVs in our pockets, that also just happen to make phone calls too.

i recall the ready 2 go mascot thing – it was a kind of cartoony mobile phone character – they had people walking up and down on Grafton St near Xmas time wearing full body suits of this character – then the local youf would run up behind the guy in the suit and punch him in the head and then leg it –
Ah the little scamps!

I recall a text service for getting latest football scores.
Text the number, scores text sent back to you, for about 50p.

Mate of mine and meself were questioned for market research pre-launch in Limerick. They were hoping to charge a quid a minute at that stage…
