Ireland captain Paul O’Connell

He stood out tall
Beyond the rest
With a shiny head
And a hairy chest

A rugged man
The women swooned
The men did too
He was well groomed

A Munster man
Decked out in red
He always put our fears to bed

108 caps and Ireland’s Call
O’Connell you were fearless
Till the final fall

You led us to victory
Time and time again
A legend, a warrior
A hero amongst men

Victory against France
Je suis désolé
That another game in the green jersey
You will never play

Thanks for the memories
The glory days and fun
Rest easy pal
You’ve had a good run

Dairne Black

Let’s just take a step back here. The Brian O’Driscoll thing went on for a year and finished with a giant portrait of him floating around lansdowne Road suspended by balloons. This is not even close to as bad.

The biggest over reaction since over reactions were invented in 1856. Also any person who refers to him as ‘Paulie’ but is not related to him or a close friend deserves to be given a swift slap in the face.
We are a sad, pathetic, flock of sheep a lot of the time.

Baaaa baaa …actually this would be a good ‘idiot’ detector for the next week or so (can also be used retrospectively). If anyone refers to Paul O’Connell as ‘Paulie’ they can be considered an idiot (close friends or family members of O’Connell are exempt).
This is like the previous ‘idiot detector’ where anyone who uses the phrase ‘Job of Work’ is a certified idiot.

Kind of agree with you there. His careers not over is it? He’ll still be playing in Toulon in a few months time, if it matters so much to people…

    Well now
    It must be said
    Tis no
